Want to travel back in time? Adidas can take you there. The German sportswear brand officially unveiled this past week a new collection called Americas Bring Back Collection, featuring retro-inspired pieces for its national teams across the Americas, including Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and Chile.
The standout item in the collection is Argentina’s jersey, which pays tribute to Lionel Messi’s FIFA World Cup debut with the national team in Germany 2006, when the iconic Teamgeist template first appeared on the world stage.

Considered one of Argentina’s most iconic shirts of this century, the jersey worn during that World Cup — and now reissued — keeps the traditional sky-blue and white vertical stripes, accompanied by wavy white and gold details along the sides extending up to the chest. The sky-blue collar matches the shoulders and underarm panels, while the white sleeves are finished with striped cuffs, completing the uniform’s classic look.

Mexico’s jersey, meanwhile, takes an even bigger step back in history. The relaunch pays homage to the kit worn by the national team at the 1986 World Cup, hosted in the country itself. Designed with a slim fit and V-neck collar, the piece delivers an elegant appearance without sacrificing comfort for football fans. The Trefoil logo and the traditional three stripes reinforce adidas’ classic identity.

Another national team honored in Adidas’ relaunch is Colombia. In the Colombians’ case, the German sportswear company revived the kit worn during the 1990 World Cup as a tribute to the golden era of Colombian football, faithfully recreating the iconic design used in that tournament — but this time on the away jersey. Believe it or not, the home kit back then was red.

Chile’s reissued jersey, launched this week, faithfully recreates the model worn by the national team in 1994, featuring a predominantly red design with the traditional wide three stripes positioned over the right shoulder. The historic crest appears on the left side of the chest alongside the brand logo in white, written in full with the classic Trefoil beside it.
