The Sporting Clube de Portugal crest could be set for a major redesign. According to Footy Headlines, Sporting will change its emblem after 25 years since the last modification, with plans for a significant overhaul of the club’s brand identity.
The rebranding effort is reportedly driven by a desire to simplify the visual identity, create new revenue opportunities, and strengthen existing commercial ventures, according to André Bernardo.
The new emblem is expected to retain the club’s core historical elements, including the lion, the green background, the shield shape, and the SCP lettering. The design would draw inspiration from older club symbols while adopting a more minimalist approach suited for modern media. No leaked image has surfaced yet; only the information about the change has been reported.

Sporting’s current primary crest has been in use since 2002. Although the central shield has remained standard on home kits, the club has frequently experimented with monochrome and simplified-color variations on away and alternate kits over the past two decades.
